Villanova Rugby was founded in 1959 and is one of the oldest collegiate rugby clubs in the country. The club has had great success since those early days and hundreds of men have played rugby for Villanova since then. As such, our alumni base is incredibly passionate and an integral part of our continued success.

Villanova Rugby has a variety of initiatives in place to connect the alumni of our club with the current team. We host an annual Alumni Game in the spring to settle the bragging rights between the current and former players, followed by a get-together at one of the local pubs. We host a conference game in the fall during Villanova Homecoming to make sure the alumni can enjoy a rugby game while they return to campus for that weekend each year. We also have a tailgate at the Collegiate Regional Championship. 

A new effort is the formation of our Alumni Board. Chaired by one of Villanova Rugby's most successful alumni, Schuylkill River Exiles captain Pat Boyle, the Alumni Board works to provide a consistent foundation for the current team and support Villanova Rugby in all endeavors. We have numerous ways for our alumni to stay in touch with Villanova Rugby, including a Facebook Page, a Facebook Group specifically for alumni, a LinkedIn Group, and an alumni email list from our club Gmail account.
